Visitation Monitor
HOURS:
Varied hours that may include day, evening, and weekend shifts. Each of the staff at LeBlanc receives training in 12 focus areas including: child development, participant safety, effects of separation on children and families, family violence, child abuse/neglect, substance abuse and cultural sensitivity and diversity.
JOB SUMMARY:
This position provides supervision of visitation and exchanges of children between custodial and non-custodial adults, while ensuring safety for all involved parties. Also responsible for the safe transport of children as needed to and from supervised visitation and other appointments. This position works closely with a variety of community organizations and programs such as CASA, Child Protection Services, the legal community, day cares and counseling agencies, which gives interns the opportunity to make connections and collaborate with other service providers.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Awareness of domestic violence, child abuse & neglect, and other family service issues. Capacity for problem solving, time management, and goal setting. Self-motivated and ability to work independently. Possess a professional demeanor in working with community services providers. Experience with MS Office. Our staff are equipped with a variety of educational and professional backgrounds in fields such as education, social work, child development and counseling.
